Bought these since my old LAS were discontinued
Purpose was as an adventure racing shoe I liked the open mesh design to keep me cool and let water drain out easily This worked spot on Downfall was on technical downhills
I got nailed with sharp rocks and they offered little support It is a double edged sword but overall they did the job and kept me blister free and dried very quickly

These are great - actually my second pair Very comfortable for pounding the pavement on city streets and much more stylish than the "crunchy granola" style of sandal I often get compliments on these and people are surprised to learn they are Merrells
