I purchased these shoes for running on my treadmill and working out with P90X
These shoes are excellent They fit my foot extremely well
they are solid shoes (my Adidas had my little toe work its way out the side) and the bottom cushion is amazing it's almost like running on springs My shins no longer hurt when I run for extended periods of time; love these shoes

I don't think these shoes are dowdy looking at all They look like Mary Janes because that's what they are Also they're cuter in person than they look in the photo I like them because they're well made I have a very high arch and usually wear orthotics which fit in these shoes since they have a removable insole

Chinese Laundry shoes are awesome! I have two pairs including these I have very wide feet (WW or EE) and these shoes fit me perfectly
