I have some other Merrill's more winter type versions that I really like I was looking for a light weight summer-ish shoe to slip on for errands and things like that I really like many things about this shoeIt is light weight the color is perfect the style is very versatile with shorts capris jeans etc and it is easy to get off and on I am a person who likes some arch support and this shoe is slightly lacking in that department I bought something at the store for arch support but it didn't really help It acutally threw the shoe "off" and kind of made it worse in some ways So I am wearing them without it I can shop walk around for a while in them things like that But I wouldn't be able to walk in them say in Europe for more than about 3-4 hours at at time or my arch would start to bother me Also my name starts with M and I LOVE having the M on my shoe ;-)

I love the new balance 811 I had a torn tendon across bottom of my foot This shoe is the only shoe that is comfortable The 'specialists' at ThumbTrade were so helpful in trying many other shoes encouraging me through the ordeal I tried so many When I have to wear dress shoes it is horrible I have asked New Balance to please make the '811' in a neutral color Nubuck for fall and winter as I wear the bone with fall'winter clothes I highly recommend the New Balance 811 and ThumbTrade to anyone I have a narrow foot with a very narrow heel and very high arch Again my 811's keep me moving Thank you and keep up the good work

These shoes are soft right out of the box I have a narrow ankle and foot and they fit like a glove The only drawback would be that they show a bit of toe cleavage The toe has a very pretty shape though more grown-up than most ballet flats
